The next intake of the Lake Erie Agriculture Demonstrating Sustainability (LEADS) program has been announced. The intake period will open January 20th. Applications will be accepted on a continuous basis until the budget is fully allocated.
There are a variety of farm projects that can be undertaken for producers and processors. Including but not limited to:
Producers
Financial analysis up to $2,500
Business plans up to $10,000
Marketing plans up to $15,000
Wind breaks up to $10,000
Nutrient management and soil health up to $10,000
Labour productivity planning up to $15,000
Food safety analysis up to $2,000
Processor
Establishing cleaning and disinfecting practices up to $50,000
Business plans up to $15,000
Marketing plans up to $25,000
Market products in Canada up to $50,000
Be sure to review the Program Guide at www.ontarioprogramguides.net for information about eligible projects and required documentation that must be submitted with your application. Eligible farm businesses must have a 4th Edition Environmental Farm Plan, and a Farmland Health Check-Up, completed with a participating Certified Crop Advisor or Professional Agrologist (www.farmlandhealthcheckup.net).
Once the intake opens, applications will be available and can be submitted through www.ontarioprograms.net. Applications can also be emailed to LEADS@ontariosoilcrop.org.
