Integrated pest management

Integrated Pest Management is a form of pest management that combines multiple elements to keep pest populations low.

Below is a video put together by OMAFRA as the first in a series explaining IPM for hazelnut orchards specifically. These will provide a basic understand of what is involved.

These are just a few of the diseases and pests affecting hazelnut crops. The biggest to watch out for is the Eastern Filbert Blight.

These issues can be managed (and sometimes avoided) through Integrated Pest Management. The key parts of IPM are planning and managing, knowledge, and proper managing techniques.
